About these terms

These terms apply when you use fairwright.co.uk and our quote-matching service. By using the website you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You can contact us at hello@fairwright.co.uk.

What we do

Fairwright is an independent introduction service. When you ask for a quote, and agree to it, we pass your enquiry to one loft conversion firm that covers your area. The firm then contacts you to arrange a survey and quote.

The service is free for homeowners. Partner firms pay us a fee for each introduction. This doesn't change the price you're quoted, and you're under no obligation to accept any quote.

Using the service

To use the service you must be 18 or over, and either own the property or be asking with the owner's permission. Please give accurate information. You agree not to:

• send false, misleading or repeat enquiries, or enquiries for someone else without their permission
• use automated tools to send enquiries or collect content from the website
• try to disrupt the website, get around its security or access data you're not entitled to

We may decline or remove enquiries that break these terms, or that fall outside the areas or types of work we cover.

Our partner firms

Before a firm joins, we check its insurance, trading history, reviews and references, and that it uses written contracts with staged payments. We review firms when we receive feedback or complaints.

These checks reduce risk but can't remove it. We don't supervise, inspect or guarantee any firm's quotes, advice or work. Any contract for building work is between you and the firm, and the firm is responsible for the work it carries out. Before you sign, we recommend you:

• get the quote and payment schedule in writing
• check what's included, such as planning, building regulations approval and party wall arrangements
• never pay large sums upfront

If you have a problem with a partner firm, please tell us. We'll take it seriously and may remove the firm from Fairwright, but your legal rights over the work are against the firm.

Information on this website

Cost ranges, guides and answers on this website are general information to help you plan. They're not a quote, and they're not professional, planning or legal advice for your home. Your actual cost depends on your property and the firm's survey.

Our responsibility to you

We'll provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for:

• the quotes, advice, workmanship, delays or conduct of partner firms
• losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable when you used the service
• business losses, as the service is for homeowners
• the website being unavailable from time to time

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Content and trade marks

The text, design, logo and images on this website belong to Fairwright or are used with permission. You may view and share pages for personal use, but please don't copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without our permission.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you use the service applies.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
